Ephesus Ranks in the Top 7 of the UNESCO World Heritage List

The ancient city of Ephesus has become a great source of pride for Turkey, being ranked 7th on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Located in the district of Selçuk in Izmir, Ephesus became a major trade and cultural center as the capital of the Asian province during the Roman Empire period. The city is renowned for its significant structures such as the Library of Celsus, the Great Theatre, the Temple of Artemis, and the Temple of Hadrian. Additionally, the House of the Virgin Mary, which holds great significance for the Christian world, is also located in Ephesus.
