The corridor features four distinct decorative stages. The first involves the repair of the lower portion of the south wall, creating a new decorative system using two different plasters. The extensive portion on the east and north walls belongs to a later construction phase.
For the support layer, a material and painting technique typically applied quickly by skilled local artisans in workshops in the region were used. Reconstruction generally involved a thick plastering layer (arriccio intonaco) followed by a thin white intonaco layer (intonachino). The surface layer was refined with a very thin lime-based plaster applied with a brush. Walls made of visible bricks or stones were created using lime-based mortar and mixed inert materials.
The division of space in the decoration was achieved using a string along embedded traces on the surface. Traces of the preparation drawing can be observed (red-yellow oxide), but the painting filling the figure’s interior has been completely concealed. Frame and base lines were quickly drawn with a straight edge, but the figures were shaded and massed more delicately.
