UPENN Architecture Students’ Visit to Ephesus
The University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) Architecture Students’ Visit to Ephesus
Ephesus hosted a visit by 12 Archaeology and Traditional Architecture students from the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN). During the visit, the students were welcomed at the historic Austrian Excavation House, where refreshments were offered.
Following the welcome, Helmut Schwaiger, an archaeologist and coordinator at the Austrian Archaeological Institute, who has extensive knowledge of the Ephesus excavations, guided the students through the Ephesus Archaeological Site and the Terrace Houses.
Throughout the visit, detailed information was provided about the architectural structures of the ancient city, excavation works, and the cultural heritage of Ephesus. The students had the opportunity to explore the fascinating history of Ephesus and gain insight into the technical aspects of archaeological excavations.
